The watch is so expensive that a screen protector is a must.
I've had the protective film for about a week. Another review said this would void Garmin's warranty, but I called Garmin and they told me the screen protector does not void the warranty. The solar charging also works with the built-in one. My only complaint is that there isn't a well-defined method or pattern to ensure it's centered. Mine is a bit off center although I've tried to set it up perfectly.
