I've had mine for 3 years now. I mainly use it to trim my eyebrows once a week and occasionally to trim my ear hair. When it starts to get sluggish (and it will) I take the blades apart for a quick dry clean and put a drop of oil on the blades and knot. Mine uses 3-4 batteries a year.
