I have dealt with small plastic hoses in the past where the entry point to the tub seemed too small to fit the nozzle/nipple end of an air stone or pump, so did this a hose... There's a reason the entry point of the hose is so narrow... The reason is that the hose is plastic/small to fit better and have less leakage. Eventually, water will start to ooze out because it won't stop stretching. I need to know, that's why I bought this plastic tube as a spare... So. To solve the problem of the hose being so small/tight due to its plastic and to help others who are having trouble installing, I'll give you a step-by-step guide/plus the attached video: Note. Make sure the tubing and nozzle/nipple of your air stone or air pump/sponge biofilter are completely dry for ease of insertion/insertion: 1) Press 1 inch just above the tip of the tubing. 2) With the hose still clamped over the top of the tub, begin to press on the nozzle/nipple of your air stone or air pump. Pinch and squeeze/pinch and squeeze 3) Stop pinching the hose at this point 4) Now twist the hose left/right while pushing on the nozzle/nipple to get a tighter fit.. . Finished.
