It looks and feels like high quality leather

When you first open this bag it looks and feels like it has to be more expensive and it even comes in a canvas bag. The skin is thick and looks durable. Part of the laptop is slightly suspended so it dampens it. I'll come back and adjust the rating if it doesn't hold up, but it looks like it will.
