It was pretty easy to put together despite the mediocre labels and instructions. I took physics so I don't expect it to stay upright without a balanced weight. And it's beautiful. But what is an absolute deal breaker is that there are no patches of the same color or even close to the sections. I understand the differences in wood and stain, but the difference in color is so noticeable it looks awful. You can swap out the two middle pieces to try and get a less harsh contrast, but that still won't help. Return.Update: I processed the exchange and Revain sent out a replacement in record time. Unfortunately, the new stand has the same color grading issues as the first, albeit not as sharp contrasts. But on the new one, the pieces don't line up; The screws are all slightly off center so if you move your hand up and down the trunk it is not smooth and will catch on whatever items you hang. Pooh. Maybe you got lucky with this piece, but I didn't.
