Rich sound in the age of bluetooth + wireless volume

This was an interesting "impulse" purchase to avoid another bluetooth speaker touting HUGE power and VOLUME. At a modest 20W RMS, I was torn between this unit and the JBL Flip 4. At about a quarter the cost of the JBL unit, I settled on this unit. See, I don't really like cables, but I've learned (the hard way) that there's actually (precisely) a downside and loss in most things when you go wireless. So I dug up my old college RCA speakers (8 ohms, 50W RMS + 100W peak) and connected the unit to my Lenovo monitor via the aux out on the back. The device handles the speakers perfectly and I got exactly what I wanted and didn't know what I was looking for: completeness. I confused "volume" and "power" with the richness of the sound. The unit struggles to drive the speaker volume above 75%, but the numbers make it clear (the amplifier is rated at 20W and the speakers are rated at 50W). At 50% volume with high-quality Spotify streams, you'll be very happy with the output this thing produces. My musical tastes vary, but I go from JohnnySwim to Linkin Park and back to an old Nas album in a playlist; this setting is beautiful.
