I actually bought two of these to use my unamplified Energy speakers and TV. One block works with a stereo stream, the other with a center speaker. I don't use them for loud music so can't comment on that, but they work fine for my purpose. Enough power to drive my Energy speakers with headroom. The subwoofer is autonomous, I don't use surround speakers. Basically I set it up to emphasize the center channel for speech processing. I just don't hear as well as I used to.

I use it with my iphone to drive used "vintage" realistic speakers. It works great and the sound is on par with any high quality "budget" sound system you can buy. My setup sounds way better than the bluetooth speakers I bought for $200. For some reason one of the 3 amps I've ordered so far didn't work right out of the box (rough feeling when turning knobs, audio cut out). I sent it back and got a full refund. I wanted to use this amp for both Chromecast Audio connected to 3mm and my turntable connected to RCA inputs. When both are connected, the volume will increase and decrease rapidly during playback. However, when one of them was connected separately, the amplifier worked very well. The seller sent a replacement, the problem is the same.
