I ordered and received this set about 6 months ago and I thought I remembered it was a 40 piece set but I recently counted it and saw that there were 42 pieces were, so we probably lost them. But the two yellow flowers are the same size (one must be smaller), so we probably never got two of them. The missing pieces are definitely the stems, so I don't think it matters that much that there are only 14 instead of 16. Eventually my daughter put it to the test by chewing on it and the only signs of abuse were the little bits that bloomed but none of them broke or bent. I actually stepped on one of them and while it didn't damage the toy, I ended up with a pretty painful bruise for a few days afterwards. The only thing that would put them in first place would be if they came with a storage pouch. I reused the drawstring gift bag for her and I'm sure it helped ensure nothing was lost. They are made in the USA; they are strong, tasty and stimulating; In short, I love them and would happily buy them again.
