I sent one of these boxes back thinking it was defective but it was my fault. Here's what happened: I always test new DIY 30 note music boxes with a test strip I made years ago to make sure every note works. When I attempted this, the bottom third of the notes became partially filled when the leading edge of the paper first passed, and those notes played (off) much later than they should. So sent it back and got a replacement and the same thing happened. Problem? My test strip turned out to be a bit thicker than paper than most of my other strips (probably alluding to the early days of 30-note music boxes). My other jukeboxes can handle that difference, but these (sold here) take the standard paper width you get these days and then they work fine. These are very good resonance boxes, nice and loud, nice tones.
