I would like to start by saying that when my daughter tried on these shoes she started complaining that her toe hurt every time she stepped on them. I thought it must be the packaging as they came straight out of the bag straight to her feet to try on and there was no packaging in it so when I looked at her toe I saw a very thin shard of half a glass Inch I think I really could I can't say for sure but that's about all I could guess or some kind of metal but didn't have time to get there from us as it's also straight ahead the packaging came. The packaging is a large pink case with each use in a white cloth pouch inside. I felt so terrible for my 5 year old. I made sure she took off the other shoes and checked them fully, but we only found part of her. I feel bad, I should have checked them first even though it was finished a second ago. I'll stick to that now. But even with that, I will still buy a smaller size for her. I'll just check them out, and next time I'll check them out. Speaking of other things related to shoes. My daughter is a size 2 and they are an inch and a half too big for her when I ordered a size 2. I'll have to return and wear them and see if 1 fits better. The shoes have excellent coverage. They are strong but not too hard. The top lies flat when not worn. They came in a large drawstring pouch that contained two smaller pouches with each shoe. Velcro is strong and durable. The bottom is the same as the top. They don't have a sole like other running shoes. The bottom is blue and the bottom is the same as the top. I don't really know how well that helps her keep from slipping, but I'll let you know when I find out. You looked a lot better without her. I would definitely recommend them to little ones, just check them out first. I think as everyone should for a child. I don't think it was intentional. I think it might have just been a splinter when the machine made them. Only pictures later
