A bit too long - my new review

These do satisfy the purpose of turning twisted stranded speaker wire into a secure feed for the spring terminals on the back of an audio amplifier. They come with a small screwdriver which has the right sized head for the small screws that are meant to bind down on the aforementioned wires but they have a few problems.1) The braided, gold piece is a bit too long to be fully inserted into the amplifiers spring clip receivers. They appear to be welded together at the end so I was reluctant to cut them shorter. This results in the braid remaining exposed at the connection. I was concerned they might short out the connections but it is probably unlikely as the body of the connectors keeps them apart.2) The screws are not easy to tighten enough and a couple of my speaker wires pulled out from the connectors when tugged at.3) At least two of the connectors had overly short screws that popped through the thread as they were tightened down, making them unusable. I only needed ten of the twelve I had bought so the two defective ones consumed and sparage I might of otherwise had.Having plastic sleeves over the body of the connectors is a great thing though. Buying all metal ones, even if anodized, is a bad idea and these are a significant step up from those designs. You cannot see how the connectors move as you push an amplifier back into place, metal to metal contact risks a short , and these uniquely avoid that.

Pros
  • High-quality construction ensures long-lasting use
Cons
  • The spring clips may wear out quickly
