I've tried many different lighted magnifying lamps over the years and some were just plain trash. You don't always get what you pay for but in this case I think I have. The clamp is very tight and sturdy. The ring lights ability to be adjusted seems like an added bonus. The magnification is 10x which is perfect for me. I have the beginning of macular degeneration. I work on a lot of tiny things.jewelry making, diamond painting, counted cross stitch and sewing of tiny doll clothes. This item has been a godsend for me. I highly recommend this product.
