This Caliart Art Supplies set would be awesome for a beginner (not too young because of the functional blade, unless you remove it before gifting it )Or any artist who would like a kit with several choices of media to traipse about with. I'm going to keep this set in my rollator basket, since the nicely padded zippered case has vinyl or something over the Oxford fabric which will resist fog or water somewhat, I think. Always pays to be prepared to make artwork anywhere we go, right? whether en plein air, Urban sketching, or whatever.Or for art journaling or planner or diary decorating.I love how all the Drawing Supplies in this Premium Art Set or Sketching Kit are labeled with English names! Even the tortillon rubbing stumps and the erasers are labeled. The stumps are size numbered. The drawing pencils have hardness or softness numerical labels too. The charcoals have color names etc.The 100 Sheets 3-Color Sketch Book has a 60 weight and smoothness ok for sketching or drawing in most dry media such as the included Graphite, Colored, Charcoal, Watercolor & Metallic Pencils. (Probably shouldn't add too much water on this paper for the watercolor pencils.) You can see in my photo a little bit how some of the metallic and colored pencils of similar colors compare on the black paper.Fun gift for Artists, Adults, Teens, Beginners, etc.
