Originally purchased this because the factory cap on my Jeep became stuck in the engine block when changing the oil. The ratcheting system that it used to keep the cap from over-tightening failed and only the top piece would spin. After tearing the top piece off, I was able to use a set of channel locks to remove the rest of the cap. This was the only cap the auto store had in stock so I bought it. Flash forward 3,000 miles and the exact same issue happened with the new cap. The ratcheting teeth in Motorad cap are plastic and fail if too much pressure is applied. I then purchased the Stant cap which is all one piece and have not had a problem since, it also saves me eight dollars every time i change the oil.
