Always have a roll of paper towel handy to wipe up dirt whenever you use this machine, unless you are using the capsule hopper and drip tray. Whenever you open or close the group head, water will flow into the capsule container and drip tray – or onto the worktop if those parts are out of place. I don't use a pod collection/drip tray because I always brew two large portions straight into the mug - they just get in the way and give me more things to clean up. Each time you open and close the ball handle to brew an espresso pod, especially immediately after brewing, the pod and hot water are sprayed all over the machine and onto the countertop. It's a mess and DeLonghi should know better. You can't tell a consumer they're abusing your product. I don't have mocha cups so what should I do, brew 1 oz at a time in a batch? The machine needs a non-return valve to prevent excess water from entering through the brew head after use, but they obviously don't care, so the product needs a collection funnel and drip tray first. If they took care of it, water wouldn't flow everywhere every time you use it. If you use the trap and drip tray, you need to constantly rinse them or wash them in the dishwasher, otherwise they will become uncomfortable after a few days. Full PITA! We need a redesign from a designer who knows what they're doing. Believe me. I'm an industrial designer who has designed hundreds of highly successful consumer products for major brands (including home appliances and coffee makers) that have sold tens of millions. I know bad design when I see it, and so can you.
