Review on Baxton Studio Simms Modern Cabinet Storage & Organization by Tony Watts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

take precautions. Inexpensive fixtures that break

The cabinet is fairly easy to assemble and looks great once assembled. I didn't give 5 stars for the following reasons: The black plastic dowels used to prevent drawers from opening and closing too hard are rubbish. Our little one slammed the drawer and it clicked. I had to replace it with screws. Drawers slam easily due to gravity so I can't blame the kid. Second, if your shoe size is larger than a women's size 8 or maybe a men's size 9, your shoes will need to go in at an angle because the drawers aren't deep enough. Third, if you have both drawers open at the same time, the device will fall if it's not attached to the wall. Seat belts are not included. We learned this the hard way when our toddler tried to help by putting our shoes away and they fell on him. Luckily he wasn't hurt, just scared, but it could have been a lot worse. Still, I love the closet and it's worth the money. UPDATE: I deducted another star. The hinge in the top drawer doesn't stay secure, meaning the drawer hangs low on one side and bumps into the bottom drawer, making it difficult to open and close. We are moving in May and I think this closet will end up on the sidelines. Very unfortunate as the aesthetics are good but not built to last with cheap fittings.
