Tour of the chemical factory

Bought because we live in W.VA. where the water is polluted by mining and 15 carcinogens are in our water. I spilled a gallon of our tap water through this contraption thinking the people who make them probably don't care much about the customer's health at this price point. In the instructions it says funny that you can sterilize the silicone hose. I did better, sterilized (with boiling water) a metal tube. After three hours of charging, the moment of truth came. I spent $14 on a 5 gallon pitcher of plain water at Wal-Mart. I installed the jig on the bottle (it doesn't fit and looks like it will break if you force it on). I pressed the blue button, the thing squirted and then squirted water, which I poured into a cup and offered to my wife, surprised by all this and that I had invested 25 dollars in our health. She took a long gulp as reality hit her taste buds. She just took a tour of the Chinese factory that made this thing. The water tasted awful. Much worse than the tap water we have. The presence of the complex organic, carcinogenic chemicals pumped into our stream of previously "pure" water was obvious to our taste buds. Back at the faucet, I went to the machine and pumped another gallon of draft beer through the machine. Perhaps in five to ten gallons the device will finally dump all of its toxins into the sewage system and the device and clean water dispenser will finally help our family live healthier lives. The truth, as they say, in the coffee.
