Great lightweight laptop stand!

This foldable laptop stand is much sturdier than it looks and is made of high quality metal (I think aluminum because it's very light). The hinges are very firm, which is good because I wouldn't trust my $1,000 computer to a flimsy structure that might collapse. However, this one does not go anywhere without permission. It has good quality rubber pads to support the computer (or tablet) on the platform and guards to keep the machine from sliding off the front. The bottom is also well padded to keep the metal from scratching the table (like the wood it's on in the picture). The build quality is top notch and the two hinges haven't loosened at all after daily use. it's been a month now - the platform stops where i want it and doesn't move until i move it, but it doesn't require the power of hulk mode to open or close it (be however be careful if you use them for the first time it will draw more power than you would expect until you get used to the stiffness of the joints!). I've been testing and expanding this device with my laptop on it, and as you might imagine, the taller it is, the more it wants to shake when you tap on it - honestly, who does that? Grab an external keyboard and use it to lift the laptop. It's just awkward to put your hands up and try to type like that. Aside from that, which I can't blame the physics for, this laptop stand exceeds my expectations for ease of use, stability, build quality, and overall value. It almost makes me wish I had a second laptop so I could get another one. My only complaint is that it doesn't fold even smaller for easy carrying around - although there's a handy cut-out handle at the base, which makes it easy to carry, it's too bulky for me to throw in my backpack along with a computer, books, etc., and I have a good feeling that something will come out undamaged. Since I mostly use this at home when I'm not in the office, I'm not complaining at all. The rest of this laptop's qualities more than make up for the fact that it's not ultraportable. And honestly, if they had to sacrifice build quality or rigidity or the general feel of this thing for portability, it would be a shame. This laptop stand is by far the best I've ever used, and that includes homemade ones that I've customized to the exact specs I wanted. Excellent purchase!

Pros
  • This compact and secure stand can be folded for minimal storage space. The rubber grips on the surface are durable and hold your laptop securely in place, preventing scratches and slipping.
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than others
