I had to use some tricks to make the MacBook recognize

When I first installed this on my 2013 MacBook Air, it didn't recognize everything. Not in disk utility, not in recovery mode. I had to plug the SSD into a USB adapter and install the macOS installer on it. Only then will the drive be recognized. I suspect I had a problem with the file format. After realizing it, I installed the macOS installer on a flash drive and was able to get it working perfectly. However, the description states that the transfer rates are over 1000 Mbit/s. I was only able to get around 500Mbps on my MacBook Air, but it's still a 2.5x improvement over the 170Mbps I got from the original SSD. It also didn't quite fit in the slot. I had to tighten the screw a bit at the end, which I don't recommend to anyone, it could damage the inside of the computer. For the price, it made my computer run faster, which is all I really need.

Pros
  • 20 times faster than regular hard drives. With incredible read/write speeds, the DATARAM SSD not only increases your productivity. Fast boot/shutdown/download applications and responses.
Cons
  • Expensive
