is installed in a MacBook Air. Upgraded from a 128GB Apple SSD. Installation was easy (I recommend getting the pentalobe driver if you don't have one). After turning it on, I restored internet to Big Sur and then upgraded to Monterey Beta. Boot times are faster than OEM SSDs and it seems to work well.

Pros
  • Inspires confidence
Cons
  • Concerns me

Great upgrade for MacBook Air

GREAT upgrade for my wife's MacBookAir! Easy to install and set up, fast and with the meager amount Apple is investing in its new machines, space is now running out.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Some cons

Easy Upgrade is Best in Data Warehouse

If you have the tools, it takes 10 minutes. Just follow the instructions in the brochure to boot into recovery mode and get back to work. Replaced a pathetic 128GB drive on my MacBook Air and was finally able to install Big Sur. This laptop is getting old, but this drive was a cheap and easy upgrade that will help me extend its life. No complaints at all.

Pros
  • Finally Purchased
Cons
  • Upgradable

Easy to install and amazing performance

This product was delivered much quicker than I expected. I was able to install it very easily. The set did not include a tool kit. I already have a bunch of tools, so remember you need the right tools to do this right. Definitely recommend this product and will buy from there again if needed.

Seems to require the latest firmware

Don't know how to rate this. It said that internet recovery would work for Catalina, but most likely internet recovery wouldn't work because the firmware on my computer is out of date and doesn't recognize the SSD. I see an SSD that I booted from USB with High Sierra. or higher and can be installed on it, the machine passes the firmware check with something like "missing firmware partition" or something similar. If I can solve this problem and get it working I would like to change my rating…

Pros
  • Requires Mac OS X 10.13 High Sierra or higher BEFORE and AFTER installation
Cons
  • Requires Socket

I had to use some tricks to make the MacBook recognize

When I first installed this on my 2013 MacBook Air, it didn't recognize everything. Not in disk utility, not in recovery mode. I had to plug the SSD into a USB adapter and install the macOS installer on it. Only then will the drive be recognized. I suspect I had a problem with the file format. After realizing it, I installed the macOS installer on a flash drive and was able to get it working perfectly. However, the description states that the transfer rates are over 1000 Mbit/s. I was only able
