I bought this mainly because it was used in our small camper to clean dog hair off seat cushions and genitals. I liked the small size which makes it easy to pack away for travel. Then I decided to also use it at home between hikes to keep it charged and ready to go. I thought it might come in handy for removing dog hair from our leather/microfiber look sofa. Unfortunately, the suction power of this vacuum cleaner is very low, even at maximum speed. I have to place it right on the dog's fur to get it off the couch, and it doesn't lift the hair off my fabric-backed pillows at all. I installed the crevice tool to get between the pillows and the vacuum's power isn't enough to lift anything through the nozzle. The cushions in our RV are made of a smoother, vinyl-like material, and the vacuum does a great job removing dog hair from them. Although it has to run at high speed to get suction, it will drain the battery faster. As for the brush head, dog hair is captured in the bristles but not sucked into the body of the cleaner. It will most likely be returned.
