I've been using these earphones for 6 months now and they work perfectly. The sound quality is excellent for me and others say I sound clear when transmitting. There are so many benefits of having the sound of a radio going straight to your ear. For example, if you work in law enforcement, you may be more secretive. A shoulder microphone or an uncoated walkie-talkie can reveal your location or information you don't want suspects to hear. It will also eliminate the feedback everyone else hears when an officer turns on their walkie-talkie next to yours. This is a great tactical advantage, because in stressful situations people forget to turn off the walkie-talkie and arriving officers often cannot understand what is being transmitted. also makes it easier to keep track of everything that's happening on the radio. My only criticism of this particular headphone is that the cable could have been a bit longer. That's not a problem, but taller people might need to be a little more creative with mic placement. I'm fine, but I'm not tall. Here is some advice for you. When you receive this wear it for at least 2 weeks before deciding if you like it. Anyone who tries these things seems to hate them at first, and most people give them up quickly. This is not my first listener. I've been using them for many years and initially found them strange and uncomfortable. It takes time for your brain to adjust to the different sounds around you, as you're probably not used to something partially blocking sounds coming into one ear. But the human brain is amazing at how it eventually adapts. Once I got used to it, it didn't bother me at all. Now I don't want to work without it anymore. I find wearing an earbud much better than the alternatives. Take it easy and don't whine after your shift. You'll thank yourself if you stick it out.
