These 1/2" caps have a 1/2" inside but don't stretch very much. This means they work with items that fall within a fairly narrow range of sizes. If the item you are covering has an OD a few mils thicker than 1/2 inch, they work well. If not, they don't work. However, the workmanship and material quality are excellent. I believe they will last for many years.
