I'll start with the advantages: 1) Easy and intuitive assembly. Instructions are included in an envelope with neat pictures, but the labeled parts pack gets everything wrong that needs to be done. TIP: The short armrest screws are for the top and the long armrest screws are for the bottom of the armrest. 2) Breathable so cooler than most fabric back chairs. 3) Tilt lock that allows you to recline your sleeping position during lunch break or at home. 4) It doesn't cost $600-800 like some obviously overpriced chairs. CONS: 1) NOT SECURE while lying down. At 5'8" and 208 pounds, I'm built like a Hall of Famer, former Dallas Cowboys running back Emmit Smith. So I'm not a big guy, and I'm well under the 300-pound chair weight limit. The problem is not the weight limit but the foundation. It's too small and requires the legs to be stretched further to better accommodate the change in weight distribution when tipping.I would also suggest adding a sixth leg for better stability. The chair didn't wobble only when tipping but also tipped backwards twice.2) The tile lever is too short it is very difficult to reach the armrest to recline while sitting in a chair I had to lean forward and over the right side of the chair, which only creates additional instability when leaning back into the chair from that position after recline lock, a serious problem for people of a certain age or disability hwill be, especially for people with lower back pain or even people with abdominal pain or recent surgeries. 4) The headrest is a complete failure because it's too far back to support your head AND it doesn't really "snap into place", making it even more useless on its own when you're leaning back and trying to put your head down . There was a small pillow that I thought could have been a lumbar pillow. This was not mentioned in the accompanying instructions or in the literature. Regardless, I've used it as a head/neck support and it helped a bit when I didn't have good head support. A higher backrest would actually offer more support when leaning back than this headrest. 5) Quality Control Issues: An obvious stain that is easily seen and easily identified as a palm print, including multiple fingers. I can't say I'm happy with it, but it's the least of the problems and maybe one that I can partially or even completely eliminate. 6) Instructions could be better. I used to call them poorly made, but by today's standards they're just "not terrible". Space may be tight and ink may run out, but full sentences and punctuation make understanding easier. and it used to be the gold standard of customer service. Rating: I had to give 1 star to make sure people read my concerns. The last thing anyone wants is serious injury or death when they hit their head on a hard floor because their chair tilted backwards. That being said, and the chair feels more wobbly and less bulky than many of the cheaper chairs, I feel the chair is overpriced and unsafe. The fact that its price is in the range of other overpriced products doesn't make it any less overpriced. To be honest, right now it looks like it really is a $45 chair. but maybe someone could convince me that it costs up to $65, but honestly no more. The materials are not expensive and it is made in China, so the production costs are also low. Honestly, I give the chair a few days to break in and get used to the chair and its characteristics. It's more convenient. than my 20 year old office chair. but that doesn't mean much to most people. except that my office chair was comfortable enough to still be usable 20 years later. and it's not the only office chair in my house or even in this room. I miss being able to rock and it will probably bother some people, but if you spend a lot of time in your chair or watch TV, read, play in it and then be able to recline and lock the chair individually, that's great. The footrest felt like an exploration, but after tipping backwards twice I was hesitant to continue using it. However, the price difference was only $10. Maybe it would help if I put some weight on the footrest to counteract the weight shift when leaning forward. In fact, adding a metal plate to the bottom could be an additional solution to the problem. However, each repair adds weight and cost, which manufacturers really hate. On the other hand, some of my best friends are some of the best corporate lawyers in the world, and they have assured me that rather than solving a problem with a few design changes, a single lawsuit can bankrupt and close a company. Given the uniqueness of this chair, they even speculated that the improvements could actually increase sales while improving safety.
