Review on Kensington Fusion Wireless Trackball with Orbit Technology (Model K72363WW) by Chun Hyun ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The product is usable, I expected a bit more.

Bought this mouse two days ago. I have been using trackballs for many years. The hand hurts from an ordinary mouse, the so-called. "tunnel syndrome". So I started looking for a replacement. Tried many different ones. Do not list everyone. Recently used with a side ball under the thumb, but the hand hurt again. And finally I saw this. In my opinion, controlling the ball with the index and middle fingers is much more accurate, more convenient and comfortable. So I ordered without hesitation. And in truth, the design of this mouse is good. The hand itself rests comfortably on the case, the fingers immediately find themselves on the most used buttons, the scroll ring is really more convenient than a regular wheel . But it dangles in its nest. It doesn't affect scrolling accuracy, but it's annoying. And if only this, you can get used to it. But a much bigger problem emerged. The left mouse button, which we mainly use, turned out to be so soft, and it has such a microscopic stroke that it is enough to put your thumb on it and it immediately works. And there is no way to move your finger. The ergonomic shape of the body does not allow this. You have to keep your finger hanging, which is why the brush immediately gets tired. I searched for the most convenient position for a long time, but did not find it. Today I could not stand it, I disassembled it. Found out that the case is fastened with 7 screws for a TRIANGULAR asterisk. I have a bunch of all kinds of micro-tools, but I couldn't find one. I unscrewed it with the tip of a knife. In order to pull out the button block, I had to disassemble all the insides. I put a piece of polypropylene under the paintwork instead of a spring. And now everything is fine. Okay, for me this job is not a problem, I have been repairing smartphones and laptops for a long time. But for the average user, the task is not an easy one. So I will beware of recommending this mouse for purchase. And I would advise the manufacturer to install a stiffer spring under the paintwork.

Pros
  • Great idea
Cons
  • Disgusting execution

Accurate guidance is almost impossible, the ball moves in jerks. The scroll wheel has a lot of play, periodically sinks and makes a lot of noise when scrolling. The trackball is very sensitive to the slightest dirt. Its money is clearly not worth it and cannot be compared with logitech trackballs
