Review on Enhance Ergonomics with VIVO Adapter VESA Mount Kit: 20-30 inch LED LCD Monitor Screen, 75mm/100mm Bracket - Stand-VAD1 by Mark Adams

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Unstable for curved back monitors, difficult to adjust.

My 29 inch Asus monitor has a smooth curved back which means the arms are not against the back of the monitor and the "hooks" are very far from the arms. There were also buttons on the monitor. and the bottom speakers/HDMI ports in the back where the arms cross, so I had to be extra careful where the bottom "hooks" were. My main concern was not to over tighten the hooks and break the monitor from back pressure. Due to the large distance between the hooks on which the monitor rests, the long screws that were needed to connect to the brackets, and the brackets themselves, when the monitor is adjusted with free movement, the hooks rotate downwards and this exposes the underside of the Monitors no longer gripped. There is no way to tighten the hooks to prevent them from turning - perhaps if the hook heads were hex with a hex screw in them it would help solve this problem significantly. After I got the monitor in place and secured (I thought) I went to the back of the stand to tighten the VESA mount I was using, my 29" monitor fell and hit my new 34" monitor. dived onto my desk from 2 feet and then fell another 3 feet to my floor. The corner of the bezel is cracked and worn. Luckily the display itself was not damaged so the monitor now sits on its original stand next to the VESA mount I intended to use it with. Side or center mount would be much easier. Overall the build is good and the monitor looked great on its stand (pre-dive).

Pros
  • Monitor stand
Cons
