Exceptional RGB memory, works well with AMD/Ryzen builds

First product from G.Skill, definitely impressed! Fast RAM, great RGB light effect! ADVANTAGES: High quality product, easy installation. First-class RGB lighting and a real eye-catcher. Works well with AMD/Ryzen builds (*see note below). CONS: Management software is questionable, but will save some money on your wallet. *FOR AMD/RYZEN builds: You need the latest BIOS update for your motherboard (AGESA 1.0) . .0.2a) to get full RAM speed and also enable XMP or manually set timings/voltage in bios. I have this RAM set to profile 2 with a Ryzen 5 1600 on an MSI B350M Bazooka mobo with the latest BIOS update and XMP. I get 3200Mhz with no problems. Having the latest motherboard BIOS update is crucial otherwise you may not get full memory speed. You can download the RGB management software from the G.Skill website, but note that some users have encountered issues with it, resulting in crashes and memory corruption. G. Skill expressly states on its website that the software should not be used in conjunction with other RGB control programs such as MSI Mystic Light and ASUS Aurora. I uninstalled Mystic Light before trying the software and was able to run it without any problems. The software gives you great control over the lighting effects and offers many customization options. Keep in mind that the RGB lighting on the RAM sticks works well even if you're not using the G.Skill control software, they have a rainbow pulse effect by default.

Pros
  • Always impressed
Cons
