WORST curtain rod I have ever bought

Third time buying this brand of curtain rods - twice at local True Value hardware store. I've been using tie rods since I was 8 years old and I've never had a single LOCK. So when I first bought a rod, I twisted the rod too hard and it got stuck. There is NO WAY the bar will shrink if you stretch it too far. A week later I go back to the same hardware store and buy the same rod again. Remember I've emailed customer service in the meantime. their website. There was no answer. Since I wasn't careful when installing it, I figured it was my fault, so I immediately bought a second one. The door meets the joist limit, but the hardware store didn't have the second dimension I needed. So the rod lasts a season and when I take it out for installation for the second winter it is locked in. I accidentally bought a larger rod (SAME BRAND) through Amazon thinking Amazon would have better luck. I buy a larger size so my rod will DEFINITELY work. THIS IS NOT A TENSIONER. This is a one time use where you can ONE SHOT extend the rod by pulling *almost* to the size you want and then when you rotate it it locks firmly into place. NO RESET POSSIBILITY. really crappy design. Next time I will try to stay away from this manufacturer.
