Good steel, bad handle

I've had 6 and 10 inch gold leafs for about 40 years, they were stolen. The handles were wooden and neatly finished with a hand cutout. Some idiot who's never put up drywall or putty seams has designed new knives without a grommet. Welcome to carpal tunnel land. IF IT'S NOT DEFECTIVE, DON'T FIX IT, IDIOT!
