TWO YEARS UPDATE: I know it's been a little over two years, but after 80 hours they're still going strong. The sound is still at the same caliber as new, the gel pads are still soft and the gel memory effect is intact. Conclusion: I would buy again if needed. Original post in 2019: Hello everyone! PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING: I recently had the honor of using one of these KA-1s in my 15th PPL flight lesson. I've also had the pleasure of using Bose A20s. Previously I've used fairly worn, nasty and worn out Clarks (not sure about the model) and Faro G2. Since my KA-1 is brand new, it's a bit difficult to compare it to the other two (laughs). I would say, that KA-1 sounds much cleaner than the other two. The gel ear cushions are very, but surprisingly, comfortable. I thought the cushions would get tight after a while, but after an hour I was able to continue flying. I have to try cross country! Outside noise is blocked very well and the sound inside is very clear. Of course there will always be a noticeable difference with the A20 due to the noise canceling abilities, but I was very surprised that I could understand everything! The two older headsets sounded too "rough" in certain scenarios. Bottom line, I bought them because I have an A20 going forward. If I spent 500-600 on noise reduction I might make it big or go home! Murika! But before that I needed something cheap but decent. KA-1 definitely delivers! but after an hour I was able to fly on. I have to try cross country!
