Review on URO Parts 210 827 0031KIT Roof Antenna Upgrade (Including Antenna Tip & Gasket) by Brody Jacobs

Worked great. good part. Easy installation.

URO makes some free water pumps and other generic gear for Mercedes. In this part they managed to hit the target. It came in a sealed bag to protect it from dust when traveling abroad. Take a 2.5mm hex bit without a screwdriver and use only index and thumb pressure to remove the locking bolt from the painted plastic part (not included). At this point the screw will be removed and you will need to make sure you GRAB THE SMALL O-RING on the screw. I thought the block would come loose at this point, but you're going to have car wax and road grime soaked into the base seal for years. Rock the device back and forth and slightly back and forth. Remember that the antenna is fragile, so don't try to force it. I wiggled mine for a few seconds and she finally gave in. Pull the sunroof or trunk up and back and remove the stain left on the ache from the original base seal. At first glance, my filling looked fine, but in bright light I noticed that Al Gore's plastic was also beginning to crack. Clean the bottom edge and the antenna hole in the antenna cover. Discard the old cover and antenna base. Slide the base of the antenna cover through the painted side of the hole in the antenna cover. You will bend it slightly when inserting it into the device. The bottom seal is tapered, so follow the pattern on your old seal. You will need to hold the base gasket while carefully replacing the cover and make sure the antenna is inserted into the cover. When you are done with that and line it up, USE ONLY YOUR POINT AND THUMB WITH THE HEX BAT TO TIGHTEN THE COVER ONTO THE CAR. Feels like about 10 pounds of pressure. Don't take it off or you'll be stuck buying a $150 unit from Mercedes. The only way to get OEM seals. I'm a fan of original equipment, but buying a whole kit for something that eco-friendly plastic has made impossible is horse hockey. I was happy to see that this part from URO was perfect for the gasket replacement. I will not put URO on my car. There was once. Much luck!
