Alternative to buying a cap from a dealer

Back in 2009 when I bought the car this nipple was not there exposing the antenna igniter. The dealer's solution is to replace the cap I bought. It comes with a gasket and nipple. Here we are in 2019 and the nipples have come loose again. There was no way I would do it again.

The product looks great. No problems installing.

Bottom seal fits perfectly. The antenna's rubber tip is a little tight from the factory hole, but I used a little patience and some soap to lubricate the process. (Make sure everything is wiped dry before attaching the lid.) I didn't drill a bigger hole as some reviewers have mentioned. Just be careful and take your time with the installation. I installed the antenna tip from the bottom of the cover up. The screw that holds the cover to the roof has a small O-ring (not included). So be careful…

Great part, easy install. $200 saved!

*the black plastic cap of my antenna detached from the antenna body exposing the inner core of the antenna*the dealer charged $147 for the part, $65 for labor, plus 10% tax, total bill over $240. *bought the plastic cap and bottom gasket from Revain.com for $26 (inc.tax) *bought a 2.5mm hex head screw for $13 (inc.tax) at the local hardware store *checked the instructions for replacing the antenna housing on You Tube (great step by step video) * the whole exchange took less than 20 minutes (I'm

Product name does not match the picture. From the photos and reading some of the comments, I realized I needed a rubber antenna cover and grommet. Delivered in days, installed in less than 15 minutes. The plastic element pictured is not part of the packaging but I like that it is in the photo as it shows how everything should look after the rubber pieces are in place. I put some silicone paste on the antenna's rubber cover and some on the plastic part to make it easier to insert into the hole…

This CAN be done without lubrication, soap or heat.

Purchased for my almost immaculate 2000 C230 (only 28,000 miles on a 19 year old car that I've been spoiling since it was brand new). The hardest part of the installation was inserting the rubber antenna mast into the hole in the plastic antenna cover. The trick is to insert the open end of the rubber pole into the hole from the outside in, don't try to pull the tip through the hole at the bottom of the lid. Yes, it's illogical. It was very uncomfortable, it seemed impossible. But with a lot of

I removed and replaced the stock antenna tip and gasket on my 2000 Mercedes C230 compressor with this URO kit. Installation isn't difficult, but there are a few things you should pay attention to. First you need to loosen the antenna mounting screw. My screw is a 3/32" hex, not a torx. I used a hex T handle. Loosen the screw but do not pull it out completely. There are two phenolic insulating washers and a screw o-ring. around the screw cap. If you pull the screw all the way out you risk losing

Worked great. good part. Easy installation.

URO makes some free water pumps and other generic gear for Mercedes. In this part they managed to hit the target. It came in a sealed bag to protect it from dust when traveling abroad. Take a 2.5mm hex bit without a screwdriver and use only index and thumb pressure to remove the locking bolt from the painted plastic part (not included). At this point the screw will be removed and you will need to make sure you GRAB THE SMALL O-RING on the screw. I thought the block would come loose at this…
