Review on URO Parts 210 827 0031KIT Roof Antenna Upgrade (Including Antenna Tip & Gasket) by Aaron Gonzales

This CAN be done without lubrication, soap or heat.

Purchased for my almost immaculate 2000 C230 (only 28,000 miles on a 19 year old car that I've been spoiling since it was brand new). The hardest part of the installation was inserting the rubber antenna mast into the hole in the plastic antenna cover. The trick is to insert the open end of the rubber pole into the hole from the outside in, don't try to pull the tip through the hole at the bottom of the lid. Yes, it's illogical. It was very uncomfortable, it seemed impossible. But with a lot of elbow grease and persistence, pinching, folding, twisting, repeating over and over again, it eventually breaks through. After that it was obvious and easy to put the cover back on and screw it on. The best resource and inspiration I found was Lenka's review of this product entitled "Works great. good part. Easy install." Now my car is back in show condition! Mahalo to Lenke, some other Amazon reviewers, and a few inspirational YouTube tutorial videos.
