Yes, I'm old enough to not only have watched the original Bakugan series, but played the game in its original incarnation (and spent $50 on a Doom Card from eBay back in the day.). This is a welcome evolution of the game.First thing, we have Drago here as a kind of cross between a Pyrus Dragonoid and Voltron, which is a pretty imposing sight. Bakugan has gone down this road before with subsidiary pieces, however here it's something that's executed quite well. This said, note that the assembled Drago is NOT made to be an action figure or anything like that. It's a game piece, and while I wish the whole assemblage held together a bit better, it's appropriate for gameplay. And I am very happy that the base Drago is metal, not plastic. It adds a bit of something-something to the game. It's an excellent addition to the Bakugan stable.
