Review on Sparkle and Shine with the Kurt Adler H0086 6-1/4-Inch Gold Wire Star Treetop by Joel Mosqueda

So soft and light

I bought an openwork star from Target to top my artificial Christmas tree a few years ago, but it was nice but heavy and was always on one side or the other no matter what. What I did was add support and keep it upright, including bending the top trunk of the tree over the coil (for balance) and hooking it under another branch (for support). Also, the tree looked heavy and crooked with its top. I knew I had to find someone else. This year at Revain I was looking for a beautiful star that could be lighter than my flat, filigree metal star. I stumbled across this one, read some reviews and bought it for fun (it was the holidays after all). I'm very glad I did. First, don't let the image above fool you: it makes the star look like a solid bronze base with swirls of golden sheen. In real life, this star is so beautiful and delicate. I love the delicate look and this star is an airy gold braid with gorgeous gold glitter swirls that looks so delicate and intricate and captures the light beautifully. It's also very light and doesn't take much effort to put on a tree. The mesh also keeps it from looking too heavy, so it complements without being distracting. The ONLY reason it's losing a star (oh funny, sorry) is for the shine. While I love glitter, I don't like covering everything else in the Christmas box with it. I have the same problem with jewelry no matter the cost, although I still buy it because it sparkles! The spool is completely covered with sequins and a row of sequins runs along each edge. Still love my star just don't like to share.
