All New Balance low cost shoes (bright red shoe box with white lettering and detailing), extra wide (4E) width on the midsole, masquerades as extra wide by using a slightly larger upper. From time to time I order a pair that I like in the hope that they might get it right again. Unfortunately these are not the shoes. Skechers, Nike, expensive New Balance sneakers. And the latter is annoying. I have a female family member who owns one of New Balance's most expensive models. So New Balance knows that the cheaper 4E shoes are narrower. The shoe is actually so narrow that the arch of your foot protrudes over the edge of the sole and the edge of the sole cuts in uncomfortably. And the sock box is small enough to cause assembly problems. I always double check shoe labels and boxes. They are all listed as extra wide 4E. Too bad they are falsely advertised as 4E shoes. I really like this color scheme, it reminds me of a pair of shoes I had in the 80's when white shoes with black and green details were popular. And it would be great to have a pair like that again. And so these narrow shoes had to be returned. The midsole, with a slightly oversized upper, isn't an ultra-wide 4E, no matter what the labels say. Maybe next time if there is a next time.
