is upside down only, this tool also comes with a flywheel holder BUT without modification or a steady hand it will not fit properly. Two tines or something like that slip into the holes, but there isn't enough room for a good bite. It is very difficult to get a good enough grip to tighten the primary sprocket bolt. It can be done, but it doesn't require you to buy the right tool or grind grooves to make room for the teeth.
