Review on 29-Inch Boraam Melrose Barstool In Driftwood Wire-Brush And Ivory - 1 Pack by Scott Galloway

Revainrating 4 out of 5

3.5 stars if I could.

These stools are very cute and they are a comfortable height for counter sitting, but I think they look a little disproportionate for a counter stool. The back is high enough to be comfortable, but it looks a little puny when put up against the counter. And although the legs have a nice style, the lower leg below the foot rest is shorter than the upper part between footrest and seat. This gives the appearance of being stumpy. I measured them up against my old stools which looked very stately. These are nearly the same measurements overall so I have to assume it is just the proportions. If the lower leg portion were slightly longer and the backrest were higher it would have a more elegant and substantial look. I wonder now if I should have ordered bar-height stools although I do not have an unusually high countertop. The items arrived in about 5 days and they were packaged very well. One of the pieces had a big scratch on the frame but I've decided to just let it be part of the rustic character. The stools are fairly sturdy but were difficult for me to assemble alone. The instructions are easy enough to follow and all parts were included, but not all of the pre-drilled holes are perfect and there are more than a few hard-to reach screws. Though the instructions do not say so, it is easier to assemble the backrest to the base with the seat cushion removed. Replace the seat cushion before final assembly of the 4 base screws.Overall these are nice and with the amount of time invested in assembling them I will keep them, but I was hoping for a more stately and substantial looking stool.
