All in all this is a fantastic lens with excellent clarity, sharpness and bokeh. This is by far the sharpest lens I have. I bought it for my D80 and it worked great. However, shortly after I bought the D3300 I had no idea that this lens would not work with it. I still don't understand why the 5000 and 3000 series cameras don't have an autofocus motor. My impression is that this lens works on all Nikon DSLRs. However, it still works, you just have to focus manually. This is a great portrait lens. The depth of field is fairly limited, so you can't get too close to your subject. This makes it ideal for outdoor portraits or shooting in a large studio with lots of space. not good for anything remotely related to macro photography, but you probably won't be considering this lens for that anyway! I'm definitely glad I bought it. I will attach an image showing the amazing bokeh that can be achieved with this lens.
