These are classic skate shoes, I had a pair when I first started skating @ 13 year old ollie and kickflips all day. Now I'm 27 and I'll be buying them again to get into a good old skate habit. These shoes really all depend on the strap you use, how long they last, and what part of your foot you throw the board with, but let's assume. They use the toughest tape. The rubber outsole climbs quite high which protects you with ollies but flip tricks tear the upper pretty quickly as I'm a beginner, they lasted me 2 months before I started breaking through. Right now I wouldn't buy them for serious skaters, but that's the price you can change them out at every month. They're a little on the heavy side too, but when fresh they look cool with khaki or the very versatile denim style. Convenient, but I don't think the arch support can be fixed with an insert.
