We have purchased several styles and brands of these collars and this was by far the cutest. It could have worked if the lacing mechanism worked and maintained the correct tension. I don't know if ours was an accident or if they were all defective but it didn't work at all allowing our cat to slip out of the collar easily. Compared to other similar collars, we tried it. not necessarily a large diameter for a cat. Even if it stayed safe, it would be too big for her to walk comfortably. For a small dog, that might still work fine. The one that looks like an orange was the perfect size and diameter for our cat.
