We love listening to books while hiking and thought we would be very happy with the Lenrue F9 speaker. However, we eventually learned that either the Lenrue F9 speaker or its connection cuts off the beginning of each sentence (after the usual pause in speaking pace) and also distorts spoken words, even when we turn the volume down. (At least we're not getting older, which makes the audiobook harder to understand.) To determine if the problem was with our phone or with the Lenrue F9 speaker, we turned up the volume on our phone - and it went on silent. Lenrue F9 speakers on. When listening directly from an Android phone, both problems disappeared. Otherwise, if we could hear what they were talking about, the Lenrue F9 speaker proved to be high quality and connected quickly to our phones. Significantly better than the several years older speaker we used previously which didn't survive battery aging. Interestingly, we never had any audio clarity issues with the same phone when using the previous Bluetooth speaker. When we hear from the supplier we will update this review. But at the moment it's not suitable for people who can use the Lenrue F9 speaker to enjoy something that requires the clarity of the spoken word.
