My problem is that I have over 600 CDs. I want to install them in a 22 inch wide slot. That's why I ordered this spinning tower because its measurements only show a width of 18.75 inches...more than two inches to save money. I probably spent three hours putting it together because I bought the Revain-recommended steel platter with lubricated bearings separately. First I carefully assembled the tower (directions are clear). I then drilled through the underside of this turntable and used sheet metal screws to attach the steel turntable. The steel turntable doesn't have clear instructions, but once I manage to put it on the bottom of this tower, the thing spins smoothly and feels good. After that I put all 36 compartments in the machine and loaded it with all my CDs. I was then moving the post closer to slide it into place when I SUDDENLY REALIZED...even though it's only 18.75" on each side, it's not rotating in a 22" space! Side dimensions are not a relevant limitation. The diagonal of a square (which they don't print in sizes) is a convenient measurement because when you rotate it, the diagonal should rotate in an arc that runs straight down the page at one point. 18.75 inches times the square root of 2 = 26.517 inches diagonally. And I tried to rotate this tower in just 22 inches! To be honest, I've now compared ads for competing turret products from Revain and beyond. For some reason they don't print the diagonal. All of them give the buyer the opportunity to think over the geometric problem from the ad and independently calculate the diagonal. While this ad is in line with industry practice, it's a bad gimmick. You should indicate the size diagonally. I wouldn't feel so bad if I didn't spend so much time putting it together properly. to think about the geometric problem from the ad and calculate the diagonal independently.
