Kettle works great! I use it to boil water for instant oatmeal daily. I'm on the road and using this with a 400w inverter in my truck. That worked great every time. I pour in cold water, close the lid, open the vent and press the power button (btw the blue light means it's on). Within 4-5 minutes the water will boil and the kettle will turn off. Although it doesn't get hot outside, the water inside warms up and stays hot for about an hour when closed. No problems and no blown fuses in the inverter or truck. It's nice that the cord can be tucked inside and that it's the same size as a glass so it fits perfectly in a cup holder.
