When my Xbox 360 disc disc stopped working it was almost 10 years old. I was still using the controllers that came with the 360 when I bought it new. TEN YEARS! These things could survive a nuclear holocaust. As for my Xbox 1 controllers, I have 2 controllers that are not working yet (replaced the one that came with the Xbox after 2 weeks and now less than 4 months old, replacement not working). To work). They weren't scattered around the room or stepped on. They fell off the couch several times (and by the way, every time they fell, the battery compartment swung open and the batteries flew out). Again, we're trying to prevent this from happening, but for a decent controller it shouldn't be a problem. First, two buttons are out of order so I can't even jump into Skyrim (Y button), and the left trigger gets stuck when a loose piece of plastic gets stuck underneath. When replacing, the right bumper is somehow stuck in the on position. The quality of the Xbox 1 controllers I received was VERY poor compared to what I'm used to. Very disappointed! And I checked the Microsoft support site and they said the one I bought on Jan 1st is out of warranty so obviously now I have to pay $50 to have those faulty controllers replaced . For the ridiculous amount of money consoles cost these days, you'd think they would come with nice accessories. All I'm saying is be prepared to need a new controller every few months as Microsoft only cares about money and (obviously) not customer service or quality control.
