Just put the appropriate size head on my impact drill and the spikes grip the ground well. I was actually a little skeptical as I thought the barbed cords weren't big enough to hold them in the ground, but the first one actually dragged the base into the ground a bit. There are 6 spikes so I know they won't move at all. I use it on a 200lb rottweiler. He doesn't move at all. Would recommend to anyone using a leash on their furries!
