$50 to replace a tiny part!?

Who would have known that what I hate about this system is the way it's packaged. Installation is simple and straightforward, but you don't get fittings to attach plastic parts to your existing supply valve and cold water line. Go to a hardware store and make sure you can easily get the correct size adapter, but the threads are wrong. Try 15 different adapters and finally find one that actually screws in, but by then the threads are broken. I called support to get a replacement part and they asked for a part number. These small plugs are packaged with most other installation materials, and the part number is assigned to the entire installation package, not just the plug. $50 to get it when the part I need is probably $3 and I haven't even finished installing it yet. When I expressed my concern and said that I would probably be returning the entire unit, the support person said "OK". So, WARNING: The threads are easy to strip and replacing the part will cost you 50% of what you paid for the entire block. support will not help. I really don't know why they don't include hardware to connect the unit to the most common under sink utility lines.

Pros
  • Sink and countertop filtration
Cons
  • I'll write later
