, I own a sawmill and a wood workshop. I used to just let the wood dry in the barn for a few years. I bought a gauge to reduce this time. What I like about the 950 is that it calculates theoretical equilibrium moisture content. That is, for the temperature and humidity conditions in which the wood is stored, which is the lowest humidity at which the wood can dry. With this information I can increase the temperature and/or decrease the humidity to reach my target humidity in less time.
