If you use a baby bottle brush, they are just as easy to clean as reusable bottles. I bought these because I buy in bulk at my local Amish store and prefer to break up a 1 or 2 gallon jar (chocolate syrup, mustard, mayo, etc.) into smaller bottles for easier storage in the fridge. But I am very disappointed that several caps fell off the bottles within a few days. Annoying, but I can still put a tiny cap on the bottle to avoid excess exposure to air. The real thrill was when I squeezed mayonnaise onto my sandwich and the WHOLE CAP broke off the bottle and balls of mayonnaise exploded all over the kitchen. The seal on these bottles isn't great initially, but when you squeeze the bottle it deforms the neck/hole and there's nothing stopping the cap from adjusting and possibly popping out. If you're storing something thinner like Italian dressing, inverting the bottle will cause the liquid to start pouring over the ring the cap is screwed onto, even without pressure or compression because the seal is loose. The plastic the bottle is made of is not flexible enough. Combine the plastic material with the gravity of holding the bottle upside down and the pressure of compression, and you can also have the joyful experience of cleaning condiments from the refrigerator door, counter, wall, floor and your foot. I bought the 16 ounce bottles that I like from another company and went back to Revain for the 12 ounce and 8 ounce bottles. I chose these because of the price. Unfortunately I got what I paid for.
