The best tactical tomahawk. As usual. Serious. Update/Alert 5/17/2017 (Scabbard issue)

UPDATE: I use this regularly as a woodworking tool and am still very impressed with it in that regard, but recently discovered a serious flaw in the scabbard system: you can damage the edge or dent badly if you pull them out in a certain way and pull them hard. If you first pull straight down or with an ax, the edge will hit the bottom rivet in the shell, damage to me. Although minor and fixable on the stone, it did appear in the same spot as the photos in other reviews here. You have to pull it out of the spike first by twisting the grip forward, but that's not easy to notice when you're under pressure, like in a tactical situation where you're trying to get it out as quickly as possible . It's still a great axe, before that I didn't even need to sharpen it after half a dozen hikes in the woods, so be aware of this issue and watch how you pull it, you'll see what I mean as you do get it. Bad through and through. What else can I say? Super strong, top notch fit and finish, sharper than most knives, incredibly sharp in fact, superior feel and balance, great design, great sheath and carry system, and it's made out of steel which I really like. I got this as an "end of the world" tool but it's so good that I actually use it as a belt ax when I go into the woods, yes you can use it for that, no one will give you your bushcraft Membership take card. It's a BEAST at chopping wood, I'd take on any knife or ax of similar size, but it's light enough and comfortable enough for small jobs. In hindsight, if I had known how damn good he was at working with an axe, I would have gotten a Chogon version, but that doesn't mean the mandrel is in the way or is a major disadvantage of the woodworking tool, you can turn it sideways, to hammer in the stakes and that way and you can do the double bladed ax trick to split the tree for the thorn. Also, yes, it's going to be an impressive melee weapon, most people I show it to don't want to touch it (little bonus, I hate borrowing axes). The only very minor issue is that the grip has a small hot spot if you're felling seriously, although I double taped the end to fix this and it's negligible compared to all the good aspects of this little gem. Of the 40+ pieces of cutlery I own, ranging from 1.5 inch jackknives to 6 foot spears, this is perhaps the best and most popular. If you like a tactical tomahawk or need a tactical tomahawk then this is what you need, maybe over $300 these are better but I bet I can't afford them and if you can you shouldn't read.
